What Oru is
Oru is a study guide to the orishas of the Regla de Ocha for dancers, made by Nestor Peña. It is a dance and music learning tool, not a religious authority or a substitute for your elders or your house, and it is not a divination tool.
Your account
You can use the free part without an account. With an account (sign in with Google) you can redeem codes and have Oru Pro, which saves your progress and brings it to all your devices. You are responsible for what is done with your account; it is personal and not to be shared. You can delete it at any time.
Oru Pro
- Oru Pro opens all eight orishas in full: every lesson, toque, canto and step, history and patakíes, spaced-repetition practice and Your path, your progress on all your devices.
- Price: €39 a year. The first 20 people pay €28 for the first year. One payment gives a full year of access.
- Until sales open, access to Oru Pro is by code. Each code states what it gives (for example one year, or for life for the people who advise on the content), how many times it can be used and until when. Codes are personal unless stated otherwise and may not be resold.
- Religious practice and sources are always free.
- Payment, renewal and withdrawal terms will be published here before sales open.
The content
Oru summarises and quotes scholars, elders, teachers, musicians and dancers, always with their source. When sources disagree, it shows the versions. Mistakes are possible: if you find one, write to hola@orudance.com.
Oru’s texts, drawings and design belong to Oru. Quotations and recordings belong to their authors. You may use Oru for your study and your classes; you may not copy or publish its content as your own.
Respect
Oru documents a living tradition. By using it you agree to treat it with respect. Oru shows no faces of orishas, no consecrated objects, no ceremonies and no initiation or divination procedures.
Liability
Oru is provided as is. Practise the movements with care and within your physical condition. We are not liable for damage from misuse or for service interruptions, except as the law provides.
Personal data
How we handle your data is explained in Privacy.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; if a change is important, we will tell you. They are governed by Spanish law. For any question, write to hola@orudance.com.
